Unlock Zelda Items with Amiibo

Amiibo (sold separately from the Switch game) can be used to gain gear from The Legend of Zelda franchise and receive a chest of loot.

• Look heroic with the Zelda outfit: From the Main Menu, select Magic and go to the All menu to find Amiibo. Then you can tap compatible The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild character amiibo (sold separately) on the Switch Joycon or Pro controller’s NFC spot to gain outfits and gear inspired by the Zelda series. Take down enemies with the Master Sword, protect yourself with the Hylian Shield, or look heroic in the Champion’s Tunic. — These items can also be acquired without amiibo as you progress through the game (this is detailed here), however there can only be one of each Zelda item in the game.

• Gain more loot: You can also tap other compatible amiibo to receive a chest of loot, exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Handy!
