SpaceBourne 2 – How to Upgrade Ships

1

Before we dive into the nitty-gritty of upgrading your ship, it’s crucial to get that ship upgrades ain’t the same as ship modules and components. Upgrades boost your ship’s base stats & capabilities, while modules and components are extra parts you can tack on to amp up your ship’s performance.

Finding the Upgrade Station

To upgrade your ship, you gotta locate the Upgrade Station first. Pop open the map menu by pressing ‘M‘ and type ‘N3‘ to navigate to the starting system. Alternatively, you can head over to the ‘Chulac‘ system. Once there, press ‘T‘ and waltz into the regular fashion hangar, or scope out a station with a satisfaction hangar in its name.

Having Enough Dough

Upgrading your ship in SpaceBourne 2 will require a decent chunk of in-game currency. Make sure to stash away enough cash before trying to upgrade your ship.

Upgrading Your Ship

Inside the hangar, locate the dome-shaped building and enter it. You’ll find several consoles inside. Look for the Upgrade Console and interact with it by pressing E key. You’ll be presented with a few options:

Ship Tiers

Each ship has four tiers, with higher tiers increasing the base stats and capabilities of your ship. As you progress through the tiers, the prices for upgrading will go up accordingly. The top tier is Tier 4, which will set you back 1.1 million in-game currency.

Ship Levels

Besides upgrading your ship’s tier, you can also level it up. Each level added will further improve your ship’s base stats. Keep upgrading your ship’s level until you max it out.

Unique Modules and Components

Once your ship has been upgraded to the highest tier and level, two new slots will open up. These slots let you install unique modules, which you can buy from hangars. Unique modules, in turn, allow you to add extra components, like more cargo slots, to further enhance your ship. Keep in mind that these modules and components can be pretty pricey, so be prepared to spend a substantial amount of in-game currency.

Customizing Your Ship’s Appearance

Aside from upgrading your ship’s performance, you can also personalize its look. Find the paint terminal inside the hangar, and you’ll discover various color options to choose from. Additionally, there are skins available for certain ships that can be applied using the paint terminal. Customize your ship to your liking & stand out from the crowd.
