Star Trek: Infinite - How to Build Ships & Get Officers

Hey there, Starfleet Commanders & bold explorers of the Final Frontier!! If you’ve been scratching your head over Star Trek: Infinite and its detailed shipbuilding and officer recruitment system, you’re in the right spot; this guide is your go-to for navigating these waters -> let’s jump right in!

Diving into Ship Design

In Star Trek: Infinite, building a powerful fleet isn’t just about stacking up resources. You’ve gotta get the hang of the design mechanics too.

Ship Designer: Let’s say you go for the Miranda platform. Dive into its design & you’ll spot a rundown of materials and crew needed for both building and upkeep.

Modules & Components: Dig a bit deeper, and you’ll come across individual ship parts, like the “Small Phaser Cannon”. Each module has its own price tag. Like, this phaser? It’ll set you back 10 Alloys and needs 10 working officers to run smoothly.

Crafting Your Starship

Got your dream starship blueprint -> time to bring it to life…

Space Dock: A star base won’t cut it if you want to roll out ships; you’re gonna need a legit space dock. Make sure your star base rocks a shipyard module to upgrade it to a space dock.

Resource Deduction: Kick off the building, and the needed Alloys (think 75 for the Miranda) are swiped right off your account.

All About Your Crew

Out in the infinite void, a ship without a crew is just… well, sad. It’s the officers that give it heart and soul.

Necessity: Every module on your ship has a crew count. No officers? Your ship’s just floating aimlessly.

Recruitment: There are two main ways to get officers on board: through Starfleet or security officers. As days fly by, officers are systematically added to ships each month. Keep an eye on that yellow bar by the ship’s name. When it’s full, your ship’s buzzing and ready to roll.

Officers

You’ll want a steady stream of officers to keep your fleet in tip-top shape.

Infrastructure: Set up facilities like the Starfleet Academy or a military base. These joints open up Starfleet officer gigs, a straight shot to boosting your officer reserves.

Balancing Civilian vs. Military Ships

It’s key to know the difference between military and civilian ship needs.

Military Ships: They’re hungry for officers. Every module, from phasers to shields, needs officers to run.

Civilian Ships: Ships like construction and science ones are good to go right after being built. But remember, a science ship might not need officers, but it does need a brainiac scientist to steer it. Check out these brainiacs in the ‘leaders’ section.

The Alloy

Besides the upfront building costs, ships also munch on Alloys monthly for upkeep. The fancier the ship, the more it’ll dip into your Alloy stash.
