Star Trek: Infinite – How to Increase Research Speed
Matchmaking Your Scientists
First things first, let’s talk about your scientists. These brainiacs are your ticket to tech city, but only if you play your cards right. You’ve gotta make sure their traits are vibing with the type of research you’re throwing down. It’s like setting up your buddy on a date – you wouldn’t set your artsy friend up with someone who’s all about numbers, right? So, check out your scientist’s traits and align them with the research type. It could mean the difference between a +2% and a whopping +7% or more in research speed. Trust me; it adds up!
Swap ‘Em Out
Don’t be afraid to switch your scientists around. It’s all good – there’s no penalty for swapping them in and out. So, if one scientist has a trait that gives a better bonus for a specific research project, go ahead and make the switch -> keep an eye on those percentages and make sure you’re squeezing every bit of speed out of your research team.
Hunt Down Those Research Speed Techs
Got an option to research something called Research AI? Jump on that! It’s like giving your research a turbo boost with a flat +5% speed across the board -> it’s like unlocking a cheat code!
Build, Build and Build
In the early game, you gotta hustle for resources, but don’t sleep on those research stations. Building them up means you’re boosting your research output -> which in turn, means you’re getting through your projects quicker; it’s all about that balance…
Don’t Forget About Your Planets
When you’re out there colonizing planets, remember to throw down some structures that boost research. But, keep in mind, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. These structures, like Research Laboratories, will turn your mineral ores into research points, which is awesome for speeding up research -> but it does eat into your minerals… So, you’ve gotta strike the right balance.
Tradition is Key
Dive into your Traditions tab and pick the ones that are gonna give you that research edge. Playing Romulans? Lucky you, they’ve got a +10% research bonus for the long haul. And don’t forget about Procedural Rigor – that’s an easy +5% research speed.
The More Traits, The Merrier
Last but not least, the Scientific Enlightenment tradition is like hitting the trait jackpot. All your scientists get an extra trait, which could mean more specialization & faster research. But be warned; it’s a bit of a gamble. You might end up with a trait that doesn’t do much for research speed, but hey, that’s the game.
