Teamfight Tactics (TFT) – Volibear Brawler/Glacial Team Comp & Build Guide

This build really requires that you get yourself a Rapid Firecannon which is one of the big reasons Volibear becomes a monster. So, be on the look out for Recurve Bows to get that item right away. Volibear also works well with Guinsoo’s Rageblade which needs a bow and a Needlessly Large Rod. Brand makes for another strong DPS, so looking out for B.F. Swords and Tear of the Goddess is a good idea, because both Brand and Ashe can use the Spear of Sho’jin.

This build is kind of similar to the Ninja/Elementalist build in that you will have to start your early game with other synergies like Wild or Noble. Once you get a bit deeper into the game, you’ll be able to start picking up some champions that will actually end up in your build. Always be on the look out for that Volibear, this is a pretty popular build, so people will be snapping up those bears very quickly.

Brawlers are one of the most powerful classes in the game right now after the 9.14 patch. They take advantage of Volibear who runs around like an unkillable powerhouse and takes great advantage of the Rapid Firecannon item. This is likely the second most popular build you’ll find running around the game right now.

THE BUILD

Blitzcrank (Robot/Brawler)

Blitzcrank pulls the furthest enemy to him and knocks them up.

Lissandra (Glacial/Elementalist)

Lissandra encases the target in ice, dealing damage to nearby enemies. Below half HP, Lissandra instead encases herself, becoming untargetable.

Rek’Sai (Void/Brawler)

Rek’Sai burrows for a short duration becoming untargetable and healing. When Rek’Sai unburrows she deals damage and knocks up the closest enemy.

Ashe (Glacial/Ranger)

Ashe fires an arrow that stuns and damages the farthest enemy. The stun is longer the farther the enemy.

Volibear (Glacial/Brawler)

Volibear empowers his attacks to chain between enemies, applying on-hit effects.

Brand (Demon/Elementalist)

Brand launches a bouncing fireball, damaging enemies hit.

Cho’Gath (Void/Brawler)

Cho’gath ruptures an area, stunning and damaging enemies inside of it.

Anivia (Glacial/Elementalist)

Anivia channels a large hailstorm, damaging and slowing the attack speed of enemies inside of it.

POSITIONING

Pretty standard corner positioning applies with this build. Try to insulate your Volibear to avoid damage being too easily being applied to him. Blitzcrank is the wild card of this build in terms of where to place it. You want to grab your opponent’s most powerful DPS units, so try to place Blitz in a spot that’s furthest away from it so he can pull them and knock them up into the air.
