Lies of P: Overture

Souls-like fans, 2025 is here, and it’s already looking incredible. This year is already shaping up to be insane for us pain-lovers. We’re talking deep, dark worlds, bosses that are gonna make you rage (in a good way!! of course) and just a ton of awesome, challenging games coming our way… Whatever gets you going – dark fantasy, sci-fi, or something totally weird – there’s a bunch of must-play stuff on the horizon.

Here are 15 Souls-like games coming this year that are gonna demand all your skill, your patience, and yeah, maybe a bit of what’s left of your sanity.

1. The First Berserker: Khazan

This gem puts you in the role of Khazan, a legendary general who’s returned from death with a vengeance. Dark fantasy revenge story, pure and simple. Expect to fight through a dangerous unique world to uncover who betrayed him and make them pay – it’s promising hardcore action combat & a deep engaging story.

2. AI Limit

Future’s wrecked, surprise. People are in the last city, Havenswell, looking for some myth called Elysium. You’re Arrisa, an immortal fighter called a “Blader,” exploring ruins and trying to survive. Fast combat, lots of customization for your character, and a really atmospheric world. This one looks promising.

3. ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN

Yeah, another Elden Ring. But it’s not just DLC it’s a whole new thing in that world… they’re changing stuff up, new mechanics, new areas to explore & challenges that will probably be really hard.

4. Redemption of Liuyin

Want something with an Eastern style? This one looks good. Redemption of Liuyin has a cool Eastern visual style, promises smooth sword combat, and uses mythology. If you liked Wo Long or Sekiro this might be for you.

5. Rise of Rebellion

Dystopian future where you fight a bad empire. Rise of Rebellion has you fighting back with dynamic combat; they say it’s like Dark Souls but with more strategy like Nioh. Sounds like you’ll need to think as well as react fast.

6. Duel Corp

Into duels? Duel Corp is all about 1v1 fights in a futuristic setting against tough AI; you’ll need to learn to parry, counter and manage your spacing to win – expect intense, focused combat.

7. The Relic First Guardian

If you like mystery and exploring, The Relic First Guardian focuses on that. Dark, mysterious world with ancient secrets to find. Haunting environments levels designed to be intricate and boss fights that will need your full attention.

8. Lies of P: Overture

Remember Lies of P and the Pinocchio story? This is a prequel. Lies of P: Overture goes deeper into that gothic fairytale world. They’re saying even tougher combat and a darker story. If you liked the first Lies of P, this is likely a must-play.

9. Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree

Something different: a side-scrolling Souls-like. Mandragora looks beautiful in a dark way. It mixes careful combat with a really atmospheric, detailed world. If you like Metroidvanias and Souls-like difficulty this could be interesting…

10. The Depths of Despair

Lovecraftian horror fan? The Depths of Despair is going full Lovecraft. Psychological horror mixed with challenging, methodical combat. If you like Bloodborne, this might be what you’re looking for…

11. Rubinite

World dying because of crystals. Rubinite looks visually great. They’re doing something different with stamina, and it’s going to be hard. Plus, deep RPG systems if you like character building.

12. ELDRIMAR

Viking mythology. ELDRIMAR brings Norse mythology to a Souls-like. Big open areas, gods that aren’t happy with you. And yes: if you wanted God of War to be more like Dark Souls, this could be good.

13. Samsara

Brain-bending concept. Samsara is a time-looping Souls-like. You learn from deaths, literally. Each death changes the world so each playthrough is different. Sounds unique.

14. Stonemachia

Steampunk and lore focused. Stonemachia is steampunk with mechanical themes and a world full of detailed lore. If you like world-building and tactical combat keep an eye on this.

15. Vapor World: Over The Mind

Visually striking. Vapor World: Over The Mind has a dreamlike, surreal look. Precision-based combat in beautiful, strange environments. The art style alone makes it worth watching so, yeah, 2025 is packed for Souls-like fans. Get ready to die a lot, get frustrated, but hopefully enjoy it. Which of these are you most interested in?
