TOP 5 Upcoming Realistic Graphics Games of 2022
2022 has some beautiful titles on its horizon that will show how powerful the next-gen consoles are. And some new planned releases are so demanding that they can only be adequately run on high-end PCs.
Graphic styles refer to the various visual aesthetics that are visible to the player, as well as the presentational content of the game world. Many different methods have been used to visualize game content throughout history, and game designers and artists have used these techniques to achieve various visual effects. One can only assume that these styles will only improve in the near future.
In computer graphics, the term “photorealism” was coined in the 1980s, when the first single images were rendered for hours, if not days. The gaming industry is always trying to achieve photorealistic images, and compared to 1958 (birth of the first video game), they have come a long way. Modern rendering algorithms can now produce images that are indistinguishable even from photographs, but they still take a long time to render. Although modern ‘realistic games’ don’t hold a candle to true photorealism, games with stylized graphics appear timeless and age better over time. It’s true that no game yet developed can truly be described as ‘photorealistic,’ but many still strive for that top level of photorealism.
5 Best PHOTOREALISTIC GAMES of 2022
This blog post is here to show five games coming in 2022 with excellent graphics. You’ll also see what consoles they’re on and when they plan to release.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human
Dying Light 2 is a single and multiplayer survival horror action roleplaying game developed by techland. The game takes place twenty years after society collapsed due to the Hurran Virus leaving the world in a modern Dark Age.
During the day, the infected will hide in buildings to avoid the harmful UV rays from the sun. But a night, they will leave their nest and wander out onto the streets looking for prey. And in Dying Light 2, nighttime exploration is incentivized in ways such as valuables being left in infected buildings. As well as developing the game, techland will also publish it. The title will be released on February 4, 2022, for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 4 & 5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X/S.
Starfield
Starfield is a single-player action RPG developed by Bethesda Game Studios and released on November 11, 2022. Starfield’s setting lies in an area called the Settled Systems, which sits 50- light-years outside the solar system. As one can expect with a next-gen title based around exploring the universe, the visuals are gorgeous and rich.
Bethesda used SpaceX as a significant source of inspiration for Starfield as they aim to realistically depict what space travel and space foundations would look like in the future. An interesting feature in Starfield is its gravity, which affects the environment differently depending on the location. So gravity will act differently in places such as space, planets, moons, and orbital stations.
Starfield is going to be published by Bethesda Softworks and will be available on Xbox series X/S and Microsoft Windows.
Horizon: Forbidden West
Forbidden West is a single-player open-world action role-playing game created by Guerrilla Games. And it’s the second installment in the horizon series. The story takes place half a year after Zero Dawn and follows the young huntress Aloy as she’s sent into a mysterious frontier to find the source of an unknown plague that’s killing all it infects.
Horizon: Zero Dawn had some of the most incredible graphics of the Old Next-gen consoles. But on the new consoles, Forbidden West pushes expectations even further with its stunning improvements to its graphics. A new feature coming in Forbidden West is the ability to travel in the sky and on land. Players will also be able to submerge underwater and find structures like underwater cities.
Seven new machines are also introduced, along with a workbench that allows players to upgrade their weapons. Horizon: Forbidden West is planned to release on February 18, 2022, and will be available to PlayStation 4 & 5 users.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a single-player open-world action-adventure game based on the well-received Avatar Film. The game is being developed by Massive Entertainment, the same company that created Assassins creed: revelations, Far Cry 3, and Tom Clancy’s The Division 1 & 2.
Frontiers of Pandora is cannon in the avatar universe but stands separate from the film. So there will be no familiar faces or places. As the Na’vi, players will journey into uncharted western frontier while pushing back the RDA forces who threaten it. Just like the movie, the game is beautiful. It’s such a beefy game to run that Massive Entertainment had to overhaul their snowdrop engine to run it.
The long-awaited title is set to release sometime in 2022 and will be published by Ubisoft. Avatar will be playable on the Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Amazon Luna, and Stadia.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
Requiem is a single-player action-adventure survival horror stealth game developed by Asobo Studio, and it’s the second installment in the series. The game continues the story of the children Amicia and Hugo de Rune as they fight for survival during the black plague in the medieval world of 14th-century France.
Requiem is another game that’s too hard to run on older consoles. But with cloud streaming technology, the game is available for Nintendo Switch owners. So there you have it, five visually stunning games coming to next-gen consoles. 2022 is going to be a beautiful year for gaming, and some of these titles are not too far away. But there’s plenty of next-gen games coming out.
