Totally Accurate Battlegrounds – How to Increase FPS
Game Settings
If you want high FPS, you will have to lose some quality in graphics. To do that, go to the main menu and press SETTINGS (bottom left).
VSYNC
If you have a 60 Hz monitor, this is the most important step. Turn it off! If you don’t know what VSYNC is, it is a setting that forces games to run at the same framerate as the refresh rate of your monitor. For example, the game will never go above 60 FPS on 60 Hz monitors, 144 FPS on 144 Hz monitors.
Shadows
If you still can’t get 60 FPS, turn the shadows to low and shadow distance as short as possible. This will make the game less colorful but won’t give you a disadvantage in combat. It might actually give you an advantage because you will be able to see your opponent more clearly!
Ambient Occlusion
Turning off Ambient Occlusion will increase the FPS but make the lighting in the game a little bit uglier. Again, this won’t give you a disadvantage in combat. Just turn it off!
Render Distance
This is the first set that will give you a slight disadvantage in firefights. Long-range combat, to be precise. This setting will make you see less in the distance. Turn it down, and you will get more FPS. Sniping in TABG is very hard, though, so it is not that bad. In close combat, you won’t feel any difference!
Resolution
This is the last step you should take. If you still can’t get smooth gameplay, lower the resolution. Everything in the game will look a bit pixelated. However, some people like that look!
Some other tips
If you still can’t get the framerate you want, here are some other tips:
1. Close all other applications you aren’t using
2. Move the game to your SSD memory (if you have one)
3. Let your PC fully boot up (about 10 minutes after turning it on)
