Tips and Tricks for Beginners

Gear Up, Melee Mavens! If you’re rockin’ the melee class, always be on the hunt for the crème de la crème weapons suited for your level. Other stats and gear? They’re playing backup. Always. Even snagging standard-issue weapons from vendors can amp up your leveling game. So, every time you’re in town, touch base with the vendors, be on the lookout for quests with weapon rewards, or – if you’ve got gold burning a hole in your pocket – scout the Auction House. Got a squad or a guild? Get them to keep an eye out for those weapon drops. Just steer clear of the “Bind on Pickup” stuff.

Choose Your Weapon: The general rule? Swing between swords or daggers as you level. Your talents should reflect your choice. Picking swords? It’s straightforward with less footwork, but might feel a tad monotonous. Opting for daggers? You’re in for a more strategic play. Use Backstab often, which means you’re putting in more effort, but if you’re in a group, daggers shine bright.

The Rogue’s Goldmine: Early in the game, rogues unlock Pickpocket, a straight-up money-maker. Just a heads up, only swipe from foes sporting pockets (animals are a no-go). As you level up, you’ll nab junk boxes. Lockpick those babies for a gold boost.

Ready for Action: Before heading out, ensure you’re loaded with Blind Powder, Vanish Powder, and Poisons. A rogue’s toolkit is their lifeline. Whether you’re controlling the chaos or dipping out in a flash, that’s your key to victory. Use moves like Gouge and Blind to throw enemies off their game, then zone in on your main target, or toss in a distraction and dash with Vanish.

The Art of Stealth: With Stealth, you’re practically invisible. Use Stealth to delve into risky zones for some hidden loot. Those Herbalism and Mining nodes tucked behind mobs? Yours for the taking. With Blind or Gouge, you can easily grab loot or chests that’d usually be out of reach.

Two’s Company: The journey’s smoother with a buddy. Pairing up with a healer, like a Shaman or Paladin? That’s the dream. Get those buffs like Windfury Totem or Blessing of Might and watch as your foes drop even faster.

Mix It Up: Rogues can sometimes struggle with foes slightly above their level. The solution? Dive into multiple zones within your level range. If a quest’s proving tough, switch things up. Remember, quest XP trumps mindless grinding…
